This 2003 PRS Custom 24 10-Top is a really beautiful example of an early-2000s PRS, with one of the nicest quilted maple tops I've seen on a Custom 24. The deep blue finish has a ton of character, and the figuring almost looks three-dimensional as you move it around. It's a much darker, moodier blue in normal lighting, but when the light catches it, the quilt really comes alive.

At 8.12 lbs, this one feels great in hand and has that comfortable, broken-in feel I love about older PRS guitars. The neck is really enjoyable to play, and the recent setup has it playing beautifully. The action is comfortable, bends are smooth, and the frets are in excellent shape with no noticeable divots or flat spots. Intonation is spot on.

The pickups sound fantastic. The bridge has plenty of punch and definition without being overly harsh, while the neck has a really smooth, full sound. It also has the original-style rotary pickup selector, which works perfectly and gives you some great in-between tones that you don't get with a traditional three-way switch. All electronics have been tested and function exactly as they should.

Condition is Very Good overall, especially considering its age. The body and back are exceptionally clean, with only light finish scratches from normal handling. There is some minor finish haze and wear around the fretboard edges, a tiny ding on the face of the headstock, and some natural aging and oxidation on the hardware. Nothing major, and the top itself is in fantastic shape.

What stood out to me

• Absolutely gorgeous quilted maple 10-Top with incredible depth and movement

• Deep blue finish that changes dramatically depending on the lighting

• Classic 2003 Custom 24 with the original-style rotary pickup selector

• Great-sounding pickups with plenty of punch, clarity, and warmth

• Excellent playability with a recent setup and comfortable action

• Smooth bends and excellent frets with no noticeable divots

• Spot-on intonation and fully functioning electronics

• Exceptionally clean body and back for its age

• Weighs 8.12 lbs on my scale

• Includes the original PRS hardshell case, hangtag, tremolo arm, and pictured paperwork

A quick note on the finish: I photograph my guitars using professional lighting to bring out the figuring and accurately show their condition. This particular blue looks considerably darker under normal indoor lighting, while direct light really brings out the brighter blue tones and depth of the quilt. It's a beautiful finish either way, but worth mentioning so you know what to expect.

The photos shown are real photographs of this exact guitar. What you see is the instrument you'll receive, including any wear or imperfections shown.

Like all my guitars, this one has been personally inspected, tested, and dialed in. I make sure everything is functioning as it should and that the guitar is ready to enjoy when it arrives. I'm a guitar guy first, and I try to give every instrument the same attention I'd want if I were buying it myself.
