For a manufacturer to partner with a bassist with more accolades and album credits than one can count, it's a necessity that the resulting instruments will handle the demands of touring musicians everywhere. Grammy-winning bassist Marcus Miller has entrusted Sire's instruments to deliver his signature sound for many years now, marking an incredible "seal of approval" for anyone seeking out a pro-level bass at a price that won't break the bank. The Sire Marcus Miller M5 4-string Bass Guitar more than fulfills its promise of high-octane performance, sporting top-quality tonewoods throughout and an ear-pleasing set of electronics. Even better, the Marcus Miller M5 comes stock with rolled fingerboard edges; an active/passive toggle switch; and two toggle switches for series, split, and parallel pickup configurations — features that traditionally only appear on instruments priced significantly higher. Whether you're a bedroom bassist or gigging musician looking for a formidable go-to instrument, the Sire Marcus Miller M5 4-string Bass Guitar is primed for rock-solid performance night after night. Though priced for bassists of all skill levels, Sire cut no corners in constructing the Marcus Miller M5. At its core sits a highly resonant swamp ash body, which pumps out plenty of low-end thunder and richness that will complement practically every genre and playing style. Bolted to the body is a sturdy and snappy 5-piece maple and mahogany neck, ensuring you'll be loud and proud with a fantastic clarity that will ring through in every note you play. Capping the neck is beautiful ebony, a coveted fingerboard wood thanks to its silky-smooth texture and lightning-fast attack. From head to heel, the Marcus Miller M5's woods deliver a stage-worthy sound that belies its wallet-friendly price tag. To handle the demands of its namesake, Sire equipped the Marcus Miller M5 with its own Marcus Pure-H Revolution Humbucker Set. With their robust, full-bodied sound, these pickups handle everything from forceful low-end punch to funky slaps and pops with ease. When paired with the Marcus Miller Heritage-3 preamp, your tonal possibilities become virtually limitless. You get complete coverage across all genres by simply turning the knobs to dial in your desired tone, something bassists thoroughly appreciate when juggling multiple projects. Another exceptional feature is the Marcus Miller M5's onboard toggle switches — one to go from active to passive modes on the fly, and another pair for switching between series, split, and parallel modes — a sweet cherry on the top of this impressive set of electronics.
