Up for sale is a 2019 Ernie Ball Music Man Ball Family Reserve BFR Valentine Signature guitar in rare Baby Blue. This guitar is in absolute mint condition. The Certificate of Authenticity (COA) states it is 35 of 68. Only picked up a few times to play at my home studio, I am now forced to pare back my large collection. This is one excellent sounding and flexible guitar that has a great feeling neck. Hoping to find it a home for someone who has the time to play it as it derserves to be.

Limited Run — Hand-signed by James Valentine!

If you want all eyes on you, strap on this Ernie Ball Music Man BFR James Valentine. Its high-gloss finish and matching headstock are bound to attract attention. Beyond that, this guitar is a jack-of-all-trades and master of them all, thanks to its custom-wound humbucker and single-coil pickups, along with hidden features like an active gain boost, coil splitting, and a neck-heel-located truss rod adjustment. This limited-run BFR instrument was hand-signed by the Maroon 5 axe-slinger himself and includes a numbered certificate of authenticity.

Vintage tonewoods with a twist

The ash body on this limited-run BFR James Valentine offers a clear attack, strong note definition, and a warm low end. This is a wonderful wood for funky chord stabs and rhythms. Matched with a roasted flamed maple neck and rosewood fretboard, the ash also exudes plenty of sustain. These woods can really make this guitar's bridge pickup growl for modern country or even hard rock tones. Beyond that, the neck's roasting process makes it very stable in a variety of climate situations.

Custom-wound humbucker and single-coil

The pickups in this Music Man BFR James Valentine were designed in a collaboration between James and Music Man. The bridge pickup is a vintage-sounding single-coil, though it's housed in a humbucker-type cover. And the neck humbucker is voiced very clearly to handle everything from jazz to hard rock tones. When you switch to the middle pickup selector position, you'll enjoy a cutting and still full-sounding tone that excels at sparkling arpeggios and tight picking-hand rhythm work. Sweetwater players agree that this is a deceptively versatile electric guitar.

Coil splitting, boost, and more

The power of this Music Man BFR James Valentine is much more than meets the eye. Giving one of the pots a push engages an active boost, which is great when you need to get above a band for a solo, or when you need a little extra grit and sustain from your dirty tone. Pushing the other pot splits the neck humbucker, making this axe sound very similar to a classic guitar with two single-coils. And the body's revolutionary wedge shape makes the instrument very comfortable while helping to reduce its weight.

A Ball Family Reserve instrument

A Ball Family Reserve (BFR) instrument that celebrates Ernie Ball Music Man's heritage in guitar craftsmanship with some of the finest figured tonewoods and finishes available, this limited-run BFR James Valentine is a supreme expression of the luthier's art. Thanks to its wedge-shaped ash body, it's supremely comfortable and lightweight — perfect for marathon gigs and sessions. Beyond that, this axe gives you the ultimate in playability, while a duo of custom-wound pickups serves up a massive tone arsenal suitable for any live or studio gig. Add to that this guitar's premium roasted flamed maple neck, rosewood fretboard, and 22 jumbo stainless-steel frets, and you've got a great looking, great playing instrument.
