I am selling my fully restored, legendary vintage hybrid Sequential Prophet VS vector synthesizer. Visually, the VS is in exceptional condition, showing only minor signs of wear accumulated over nearly 40 years. Technically, it is in pristine, near-mint condition. This offer is certainly the most attractive one you will come across for a long time !

The Prophet VS is one of Dave Smith's most innovative synthesizers and the precursor to the Korg Wavestation. Plenty of information and reviews regarding this instrument can be found online. For me, it’s one of the best digital synths; I’m parting with it because I need the space, but I’m keeping a rack version because I love the spellbinding sounds it produces.

- During the overhaul, one of the major flaws common to units produced for the European market was addressed: the noisy power supply—which caused the entire unit to vibrate and could become scorching hot—has been replaced with a modern unit. The VS can now be operated continuously without issues, eliminating concerns about overheating valuable components like the CEM chips.

- Additionally, the display has been upgraded to a modern OLED version.

- The data entry fade has been replaced

- All switches—including the plastic push-buttons on the control panel—have been replaced; the switches now feel brand new.

- It runs firmware version 1.3, which includes many useful new features.

- Finally, the aftertouch mechanism has been completely rebuilt; it is rare to find units where this still functions properly.

- A WaveReX data cartridge with 32 sound banks is also included, providing instant access to 3,200 sounds (32 banks of 100). This gives the VS a total of 3,300 immediately accessible presets.

- Included: The original manual in English

The overhaul alone cost approximately €1,000, and the cartridge cost more than €200 (and is currently unavailable in this capacity).
