The Sterling Music Man Bass was voted "Most Innovative Bass of 1993" by Musician Magazine, and is actually named after Sterling Ball, son of the company founder. The Sterling Bass is lighter and more compact than the original Stingray design. It also uses a different preamp and a selector switch for parallel, single coil, and series pickup coil configurations, and uses a "phantom coil" pickup technology. The Sterling also has a thinner neck with 22 frets, rather than the 21 found on the Stingray. Hardshell Case Included!
