Vintage Wurlitzer mellophone in the classic circular French-horn shape, with 3 piston valves and a beautifully hand-engraved bell. A family heirloom: this horn was played by my great uncle in upstate New York. A great piece of American band-instrument history. Wurlitzer was famous for its organs and jukeboxes, and also sold brass instruments under its name.

Condition:

• Plays! All 3 valves press down and spring back smoothly

• Decorative floral engraving on the bell with "Wurlitzer" stamp

• Honest vintage condition: finish wear and a few small dings in the bell (shown in photos)

• No mouthpiece included (a standard mellophone mouthpiece is easy to find)

Case:

• Original horn-shaped hard case. Covering is worn with a torn edge at the bell end; handle and buckle intact.

Includes:

• Original hard case

• 2 vintage marching lyres (with patina)

• Optional, if you'd like it: new, unused String Swing horn wall hanger (BHH18-FM), still in its bag with mounting hardware

Great for a player who loves vintage brass, a collector, or as a stunning display piece.
