This is a great VCA limiter from JBL. It’s the same circuit as the Urei LA-22 since JBL bought Urei.
Ratio from 1.5 to infinite, continuously variable attack and release, auto mode option, and possibly the coolest part is that you can change the detection from average to peak on another continuous knob - so anywhere in between the two detectors. Balanced or unbalanced in and out.
It’s great on vocals, drums, and bass. I use it anywhere you’d put a DBX 160 type compressor, although you have many more controls than a DBX.
