PRE-SALE: Gibson Les Paul Special - Black, 2000s
PLEASE NOTE! This instrument is presented as a pre-sale item. It will undergo luthier work, including, among other things, polishing of the finish, refurbishment of the metal parts and shielding of the electronics. Depending on the assessment of the neck geometry, the original frets will receive an advanced levelling and polishing, or – if levelling (planing) of the fingerboard proves necessary – the instrument will receive a completely new set of frets. The final price includes the above work. This listing does not constitute a commercial offer within the meaning of Article 66 § 1 of the Polish Civil Code.

In line with the pre-sale arrangement, the body will be polished.
Neck and ergonomicsThe mahogany neck is paired with a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets and dot position markers. The scale length is 24.75 inches (628 mm) and the nut width is 43 mm. As part of the pre-sale work, the instrument will receive a complete set of new frets and a full setup. This will ensure correct intonation and suitable string action along the entire length of the fingerboard.
SoundThe instrument is fitted with two humbucker pickups with metal covers in an HH layout, controlled by a 3-way switch. Each pickup has its own Volume and Tone potentiometer.
- Character: The switch selects the neck pickup, the bridge pickup or both together. Separate potentiometers allow the volume and tone of each pickup to be set independently.
- Dynamics: Humbuckers have a dual-coil design that reduces mains hum compared with single-coil pickups. The pickups are passive. The electronics will be checked, cleaned and serviced as part of the work.
- In the system used by Gibson since 1977, serial number 00441369 denotes the 44th day of 2001, i.e. 13 February.
- The Les Paul Special has been part of the Gibson range since 1955.
- The headstock carries the Gibson logo and the Les Paul signature.
- The guitar is offered on a pre-sale basis, which makes it possible to reserve this example before the full luthier work in our workshop has been finalised.
- Bridge: Tune-o-matic with a separate stopbar tailpiece, allowing string height and intonation to be adjusted. As part of the work, the bridge will be polished and adjusted.
- Tuners: Gibson Deluxe in a 3+3 layout, with keystone buttons. The hardware will be polished.
- Technical condition: The instrument is currently being prepared for playing (pre-sale). Once the planned luthier work has been completed, it will be fully functional mechanically and electronically.
- Cosmetic condition: We rate the cosmetic condition at 7 out of 10. Clear signs of use, scratches on the back of the body and a small finish chip near the headstock – details can be seen in the photos.
- Setup and modifications: The planned service work includes: a refret, setup (truss rod, string action and intonation adjustment), an electronics check (cleaning and servicing) and polishing of the body and metal parts.
- A Gibson from 2001: An example made in the USA, with the production date confirmed by the serial number.
- Classic configuration: Two humbuckers, a Tune-o-matic bridge with stopbar and a set mahogany neck.
- Pre-sale offer: Buying on a pre-sale basis lets you reserve this example and receive it as soon as the luthier work in our workshop has been completed.
- Comprehensive service: Within the agreed price, the guitar will receive new frets, a full setup and checked and serviced electronics, so no additional investment is needed after collection.
