Fender 1981-1982 Collector Series Black & Gold Telecaster, produced for only a little over a year. The matching black headstock and body contrasted with gold hardware give it a look that stands out even within Fender's history - a rare collector's item that also performs as a serious stage instrument.

Features unique to this model include the matching headstock on the all-black body, gold hardware, a dedicated control panel, and a heavy bridge plate. The heavy ash body combined with the one-piece maple neck gives very fast pick response and a thick, strong low end with a well-defined attack.

The fairly thin neck shape fits comfortably in the hand and handles everything from chord work to fast lead playing. Covers a wide range of usable sounds, from the crisp, bright Tele bridge tone to a thick, sweet neck tone that won't get buried in the mix.
