The AKG D7 S is a professional-grade dynamic microphone engineered for live vocal performance and studio recording. Its supercardioid polar pattern and robust construction make it a reliable choice for capturing vocals with clarity and rejection of off-axis noise. The integrated on/off switch provides convenient control without requiring external muting.
Design & Build QualityBuilt with a metal body finished in dark stage blue, the D7 S features a patented dual-layer Varimotion diaphragm and mechano-pneumatic capsule suspension for precise sound capture. A precision metal dust filter and integrated humbucking coil protect against interference and environmental contamination, while the always-active 80 Hz high-pass filter removes proximity and handling rumble.
Audio PerformanceThe microphone delivers a frequency range of 70 to 20,000 Hz with 2.6 mV/Pa sensitivity, making it responsive to vocal detail across the spectrum. Maximum SPL ratings of 147 dB (131 dB SPL) and 156 dB SPL (140 dB SPL) handle high-pressure sources without distortion, while an A-weighted signal-to-noise ratio of 76 dB ensures clean recording even in moderately noisy environments.
