Suhr Classic S – Sonic Blue / Indian Rosewood / HSS
The Suhr Classic S combines the timeless feel and aesthetics of a classic S-style guitar with Suhr’s modern standards for precision, reliability, and playability. This configuration features a stunning Sonic Blue gloss finish, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, and HSS pickup configuration, making it an exceptionally versatile instrument for everything from vintage-inspired clean tones to higher-output lead and overdrive sounds.
Built around an alder body and a tinted maple neck, the Classic S features Suhr’s comfortable 60’s C Vintage Standard neck profile, measuring .810"–.930", with a 1.650" Tusq nut and a 9"–12" compound-radius Indian Rosewood fingerboard. The 22 medium stainless steel frets provide smooth playability and long-term durability.
The HSS configuration pairs two Suhr V60LP single-coils in the neck and middle positions with a Suhr SSV humbucker in the bridge. This gives the guitar the articulate, glassy character associated with traditional S-style single-coils while adding a fuller, more powerful bridge voice when you need additional output and sustain.
Suhr’s SSCII Silent Single Coil System helps eliminate traditional 60-cycle hum while retaining the character and response of the single-coil pickups. The system requires no battery.
The hardware package includes Suhr locking tuners with an 18:1 gear ratio and a Suhr 2-Post Tremolo with steel block, providing excellent tuning stability and smooth tremolo operation. The guitar is completed with chrome hardware, parchment 3-ply pickguard, parchment pickup covers and controls, and a Travel Pro Premium Softshell Case.

TONE & VERSATILITY
The HSS layout makes the Classic S particularly versatile. The V60LP single-coils deliver articulate, dynamic S-style tones in the neck and middle positions, while the SSV bridge humbucker provides a thicker, more powerful voice for rock, fusion, blues, lead work, and higher-gain applications.
The SSCII Silent Single Coil System is especially useful in studio and live environments where minimizing unwanted single-coil hum is important, while still preserving the traditional single-coil character.
PLAYABILITY & HARDWARE
The 60’s C Vintage Standard neck profile offers a familiar vintage-inspired feel without sacrificing the precision expected from a modern Suhr. The 9"–12" compound radius transitions naturally across the neck, while medium stainless steel frets provide a smooth, durable playing surface.
Suhr locking tuners make string changes quick and contribute to excellent tuning stability, while the 2-post tremolo with steel block provides smooth pitch control and reliable return to pitch.
