Fantastic guitar and a fine example of one of Martin’s most revered and now-discontinued models. I purchased this guitar new from Elderly back in 2004 and we’ve had a good run but it hasn’t seen much action in recent years so I’m semi-reluctantly moving it along.

The following issues should be noted:

-There is minor cosmetic wear throughout from general use, a few nicks here and there. Nothing serious, see photos. There is no checking in the finish.

-There is area of chipping in the finish along the waist area between the upper and lower bout on the back side of the guitar. In this same area, there is also some slight separation between the binding and the wood. Both are detailed in the photos.

-The back of the bridge is lifted away from the body ever-so-slightly. It’s not a new development and appears to be stable.

-The finish on the back of the neck started to come off in a few areas years ago. Martin used a satin finish in this era which wasn’t particularly stable and it’s a common issue in which the back of the neck can start to feel gummy. This happened years ago and seems to have stabilized. Basically there are some patches that are smooth and shiny and some that are more matte/satin feeling. It doesn’t bother me but the whole neck could be polished to a gloss finish by a luthier or anyone with a buffing wheel. I’ll leave it up to the new owner to decide.

-The frets are in good shape with plenty of life left but they’ve never been dressed or crowned.

There’s a passive Fishman piezo pickup installed by Elderly circa 2005 along with an added strap button on the neck heel. Replacement saddle and bridge pins. Originals included.

The OHSC is in great shape with all latches working and zero smells. The outside does have some wear and a crack in the plastic that has long been secured by a piece of duct tape. The little piece of nylon that holds the lid upright came unglued a long time ago but can easily be repaired.

Original hang tags etc. included.

These are great guitars with a super comfortable 1 3/4“ nut and 25.5“ scale. Perfect for finger style. I’ll miss this guitar but it deserves to be played! Reach out with any questions
