A mouthpiece, ligature, mouthpiece cap, strap, and care items are not included.
Who the Super Action 80 Series II Alto Saxophone Is For
The Series II is well suited to professional players, advanced students, educators, and serious ensemble musicians seeking a centered alto voice with depth, projection, and tonal flexibility. Its balance of core and resistance supports orchestral, wind ensemble, chamber, solo, jazz, and commercial work, particularly for players who prefer a substantial tonal foundation rather than an especially light response.
Common Questions About the Selmer Paris Super Action 80 Series II
What tonal character is associated with the Series II alto?
The Series II is generally associated with a centered, substantial core, strong projection, and enough tonal flexibility to move between classical and contemporary settings. The response offers a degree of resistance that many players use for support and dynamic control.
How does the Series II compare with the Selmer Paris Series III?
The Series II is generally associated with a broader tonal center and a more resistant feel. The Series III was designed around a quicker, more immediate response and a more focused tonal concept. The better choice depends on the player's air approach, tonal goals, and preferred resistance.
