JBL CBT 70J-1 J-Shaped 2-Way Line Array Column Speaker, Black

The CBT 70J-1 delivers controlled, intelligible coverage across venues where consistent sound propagation matters. Its distinctive J-shaped design curves naturally to project audio with precision, making it a reliable choice for fixed installations, houses of worship, retail environments, and live sound applications demanding predictable vertical dispersion.

Acoustic Design & Coverage

The J-shaped curving geometry creates an asymmetrical vertical coverage pattern that progressively controls dispersion without the phase issues typical of straight arrays. The low-diffraction baffle eliminates frequency response irregularities, ensuring smooth tonal consistency across the listening area. Switchable coverage patterns—45° for medium-throw and 25° for long-throw—allow you to adapt the speaker's vertical reach to different room sizes and mounting heights.

Components & Power Handling

The CBT 70J-1 houses sixteen 25 mm soft dome tweeters paired with four 125 mm high-power LF drivers arranged coaxially for time-aligned response. With 350W RMS power and 8 Ohm impedance, this speaker handles demanding SPL requirements while maintaining reasonable amplifier compatibility and thermal headroom.
