I purchased this guitar two months ago from an incredible dealer in LA specializing in neo-vintage MIJ strats and teles. I just never quite bonded with the guitar and want to send it along to a home where it'll be loved and played a ton. Description below is from the original listing.

A truly exceptional and rarely encountered Fender Japan ST-54 Order Made from the highly regarded FujiGen era. While many ST-54 models were built to vintage specifications, this example stands in a different category altogether.

The neck pocket is stamped “ORDER”, indicating a special-order instrument built outside Fender Japan’s regular catalog production. These Order Made guitars were typically produced in much smaller quantities and often featured custom specifications, unique finishes, upgraded components, or dealer-requested appointments that were not available on standard production models. As a result, they are significantly harder to find than their catalog counterparts and are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts of premium Fender Japan instruments.

Visually, this guitar is stunning. The Vintage Blonde translucent finish allows the natural grain of the wood to subtly show through, giving the instrument an elegant, almost boutique-like appearance. Paired with the original gold hardware, it has a refined and upscale look that immediately sets it apart from the average Stratocaster. The combination is classy, tasteful, and unmistakably high-end.

The electronics are equally impressive. This guitar is equipped with a set of Fender Custom Shop Texas Special pickups, delivering everything players love about a great vintage-inspired Strat: sparkling highs, rich harmonic content, punchy mids, and plenty of dynamic response. Whether played clean or pushed into overdrive, the guitar has the unmistakable character and authority that made Texas Specials a favorite among professional players.

Condition is excellent for its age. There are only a few small cosmetic signs of use and minor imperfections, but overall this is an exceptionally clean example that has clearly been well cared for over the last three decades.

The frets are in outstanding condition with plenty of life remaining and have been professionally polished to a mirror shine. The guitar plays effortlessly with smooth bends, excellent note definition, and no issues across the fretboard.

Finding an ST-54 is easy. Finding an Order Made ST-54 with a translucent Vintage Blonde finish, original gold hardware, and Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials is another story entirely. A rare opportunity to own a unique piece of Fender Japan history that is equally at home in a collection or on stage. Non-original tweed-style case included.

The following work has been done: full fretboard cleaning, fret polish, pickup height adjustment for balance and clarity, and a fresh set of D’Addario 10-46s installed. String height at the 12th fret on the low E is right at 2.2 mm - set for comfortable playability.
