For sale here is an ultra cool fab 60's icon! This Kent PB-24–G from 1962-64 is in fantastic condition. We’ve had a couple of these coming through our shop over the years and this is by far one of the nicer ones. The guitar has a vinyl-clad pine body and an acrylate board with 2 integrated single coil pickups covering the front. This ingenious design produces a sound reminiscent of the now very pricey Ampeg plexi guitars, but with a decidedly warmer, more responsive and - of course - woodier tone. This is an early model with a “dolphin nose”-shaped headstock, the later Hagstrom badged models have a more Fender type headstock shape. These earlier models also have more of a beefy neck than the later models where the necks were super thin and thus slightly thinner sounding. As with basically all vinyl guitars from the 60s there as some shrinkage, pls see pics. The bolt-on neck is made of birch and has a teak fretboard with 22 frets and a scale length of 24.5”. The two single coil pickups are controlled by one volume control and four slide switches for pickup selection and tone filters.
