1974 Gibson L-9S Ripper in natural blonde, aged to a beautiful amber. Good condition with normal lacquer checking, small dings, and wear consistent with its age. The maple neck has some lovely figuring.

Original finish, pickups, hardware, bridge cover, and truss-rod cover. The only modification is the properly done, reversible neck-pickup-only wiring mod, which replaces the rotary switch’s out-of-phase setting with the option to solo the neck pickup. No routing or added switches.

Includes a nonoriginal hard case.

A classic vintage Gibson with plenty of character. Plays and sounds great with a deep fundamental tone making it perfect for Reggae and that Dap Kings vibe. I would love to keep it, but I consider this a character bass, so at the moment, it’s a bit of a luxury for me. Please see the photos for cosmetic condition. Happy to answer questions or provide additional pictures. The bass needs nothing and is ready to be played with some nice well worn in roundwound strings.

$2,950 OBO.
