You are looking at a killer Fullerton Era 1982 Fender American Vintage ’57 Reissue Precision Bass.

This was from the initial run of these and were handmade by the same crew that would go on to start the Fender Custom Shop, and used the same jigs and templates Fender used in the 50’s.

This one has a beautiful one piece maple neck, a wide 1-3/4” nut width, skunk stripe, and 7.25” board radius. Truss rod works great, neck is nice and straight, and frets show little to no wear. It currently has D’Addario chrome Flatwounds on it, with nice low action ~5/64” at the 17th fret.

The bass sounds terrific, and is very resonant unplugged. The lightweight alder body (the whole bass is only 8lbs 2.1oz!) has a beautiful 2-tone sunburst finish, deep body contours, a gold anodized aluminum pickguard and the raised A pickup.

There are a few scratches and dings (some through the paint), some light checking of the nitro finish, as well as some worn through spots on the G side of the neck along the money area.

That said it looks to be all original although it currently has Gotoh Res-O-lite tuning machines installed, however the originals are included along with the original hardshell case. There‘s also a cable that came with it but I’m not sure if it’s the original accessory. It will be included with the sale as well.
