For sale is a very early 1982 Fender JV ST-57 ' Vintage Reissue Stratocaster, made in Japan during the first years of Fender Japan production.

The early JV (Japan Vintage) instruments have become highly sought-after for their excellent build quality and remarkably faithful recreation of classic Fender designs. This is an especially interesting example, carrying the very early JV0487 serial number on the neck plate.

Finished in a 2-Tone Sunburst, the guitar has the classic early-'50s Stratocaster aesthetic, with a maple neck and fingerboard, vintage-style small headstock and traditional three-pickup Stratocaster configuration.

The guitar has aged extremely nicely over the past 40+ years. The sunburst finish has developed a lovely depth and character, while the maple neck has taken on a warm amber colour. There are various small marks and signs of use consistent with its age, but overall it presents extremely well and has a great vintage appearance.

The neck is particularly attractive, with a lovely aged maple finish and the original early Squier/Fender headstock decal. The original JV0487 neck plate is present and clearly visible in the photographs.

The guitar features a maple neck and fingerboard, 21 frets, 25.5" scale length, three single-coil pickups, master volume and two tone controls, vintage-style synchronized tremolo and vintage-style tuners.

This is a genuine early JV-era Japanese Stratocaster, rather than one of the later Squier instruments, and represents an important period in Fender's history. These early Japanese reissues were instrumental in establishing the reputation that Fender Japan would become known for.

Very good overall vintage condition for a guitar of this age and has clearly spent most of its time in a case.

Please study all photographs carefully, as these form part of the description.
