AKG WMS40 Mini Single Instrumental Set Wireless Microphone System - Band A

The AKG WMS40 Mini brings wireless convenience into the studio and live recording environment without compromising signal integrity or tonal character. This compact single-channel system pairs a lightweight PT40 Mini pocket transmitter with an ultra-compact SR40 Mini receiver, enabling flexible mic placement and cable-free setups while maintaining rock-solid RF coherence and audio fidelity across takes. The system is engineered for instrumentalists and vocalists who need professional-grade wireless capture in a genuinely portable, studio-friendly package.

Integration & Studio Workflow

The PT40 Mini transmitter is the smallest and lightest in its class, designed to mount securely on instrument straps, mic clips, or body packs without hindering performance or adding noise to recordings. The SR40 Mini receiver features ultra-compact housing with a 1/4" jack output and three status LEDs for monitoring power, signal strength (RF OK), and audio clipping (AF CLIP), allowing seamless integration into console chains and audio interfaces without consuming rack or desk space.

Signal Quality & Runtime

The system delivers a transparent, articulate signal with excellent rejection of feedback and ambient noise, backed by a 110 dB(A) signal-to-noise ratio and 0.8% THD at 1 kHz for clean, usable audio in the mix. A single AA battery powers the transmitter for up to 30 hours of continuous operation, and the included universal switched-mode power supply works worldwide for receiver operation—ideal for extended sessions and touring.
