Wes Audio's ng76 is a fully analog FET compressor with digital recall and automation. Based on the Wes Audio Beta76 design, the ng76 delivers the fast 76-style compression known from countless records, with Carnhill transformers on both the input and output stages. The input stage offers two modes covering two 1176 revisions: a transformer-balanced Vintage mode (Rev F) and an electronically balanced Modern mode (Rev G). The ng76 supports all ratio combinations, including all-buttons mode, and adds a Mix knob for parallel compression, THD with Low and High settings, and a Saturation mode that lets the unit function as a saturation box or clipper.

The ng76 is controlled via a VST2, VST3, AU, AAX, and AAX DSP plugin, offering total recall with nearly all major DAWs. Draw automation lines in your DAW and the analog unit follows, or use the five touch-sensitive encoders to record automation directly into your DAW. Additional features include a two-section sidechain EQ with a high-pass filter and a high shelf, hardware A/B buttons for comparing two settings, a vintage gain reduction meter with input and output metering, and USB or Ethernet connectivity. Two ng76 units can be linked in software for stereo use, with a dedicated cable available for linking the compression detectors.
