The Fender Acoustasonic Standard Jazzmaster is a hybrid electric-acoustic guitar designed to cover both acoustic and electric tones in one instrument.

• Body/style: It uses the familiar offset Jazzmaster silhouette, but with an acoustic-style chambered body and a soundhole built into the design.
• Sounds: The main attraction is its ability to move between acoustic guitar-like tones and electric Jazzmaster-style sounds. You can get brighter, clean electric tones as well as more traditional acoustic textures.
• Neck: It has a Fender-style neck and 25.5" scale, so it feels more like playing a conventional Fender electric than a typical acoustic guitar.
• Electronics: The Acoustasonic system uses onboard electronics and modeling to provide multiple guitar voices. A pickup/voice selector and blend controls let you move between sounds.
• Playability: Compared with a normal acoustic, it's intended to feel relatively familiar to electric-guitar players, with a comfortable neck and electric-guitar-style fretting.
• Appearance: It retains the distinctive Jazzmaster offset body, making it look considerably more like an electric guitar than a conventional acoustic.

Think of it as one guitar for a player who needs acoustic and electric sounds without changing instruments. It's particularly useful for songwriting, live performance, recording, and situations where you want acoustic-style sounds but prefer the feel and ergonomics of an electric guitar.
