The Audio-Technica AT2020 is a side-address condenser microphone with a fixed-charge back plate and cardioid polar pattern. It uses a 16 mm low-mass diaphragm to capture vocals, acoustic instruments, and spoken word with a balanced response across 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The mic handles up to 144 dB SPL and requires 48V phantom power through its integral 3-pin XLRM output. The cardioid pattern reduces off-axis sound, helping isolate the source in untreated rooms.
