This 1963 Gibson SG/Standard is all original with the exception of the tuning keys (which are still Gibson) and the chrome hardware (instead of nickel plated) which were installed sometime between 1965 & 1968. It was purchased in 1968 by the current owner. The lacquer on the cherry has some beautiful patina from the age, in the form of natural crackling on the main body of the guitar. It occurred in a very desirable and graceful pattern consisting mostly of straight lines across the front. Very little webbing. The rosewood fretboard is in superb condition, which includes the mother of pearl fret markers.

The pots are completely original, as inspected by a luthier on 10/01/2026. Lindy Fralin worked on the guitar at some point & the original pots were serviced/repaired, as the picture may be misleading. The sticker on the underside of the pots cover is not visible unless the cover is taken off. There is a small hairline crack in the headstock (pictured) that never went all the way through to the face before being contained, and likely occurred whenever the chrome Gibson tuning keys were installed.
