We have received a 1995 Tal Farlow model.

The Gibson Tal Farlow was released in 1962, joining the ranks of other artist models introduced in the early 60s—such as the Barney Kessel, Trini Lopez, and Johnny Smith models. As the name implies, it is the signature model of the virtuoso guitarist Tal Farlow.

Based on the ES-350T—a favorite among session guitarists—it features a 17-inch wide body with a depth of 2 1/4 inches.

It boasts unique characteristics such as a scroll design on the cutaway bout, a toggle switch positioned near the bridge pickup for easy access during play, a distinctive tortoiseshell pickguard, inverted "crest" inlays, and double-crown headstock inlays.

While original 1960s models featured a short scale, this unit employs a medium-scale maple neck that offers superior playability, contributing to its authentic feel and sound.

The body is finished in a somewhat rare Wine Red color that beautifully complements the intricate binding found throughout the instrument, creating a look that is both chic and dignified.

As is common with these models, the celluloid pickguard and associated hardware show signs of aging; the bridge pickup cover—which had deteriorated significantly—has been replaced with an aged genuine part. Other details include a replacement insert on the bridge tone knob (using a different font), a small chip in the headstock binding, and a strap pin added to the neck heel (which has a snapped-off screw inside). Otherwise, the guitar remains in good overall condition. The frets retain about 70% of their height with no dead spots, and there are no issues with the neck condition or truss rod function.

This instrument offers excellent playability and delivers a superb tone that is truly captivating.
