Up for sale is a rare stereo pair of vintage Trident CB9066 parametric equalizers. Designed in the mid-1970s by John Oram during Trident's golden era, these discrete, Class-A analog EQs are legendary for their immense headroom, deep musicality, and sweet high-frequency band.Finding a standalone CB9066 is difficult enough, but finding a matching pair that has been fully bench-serviced and re-capped simultaneously is virtually unheard of. If you want a truly unique, console-grade EQ path across your drum bus, mix bus, or stereo instrument groups, this pair is ready to plug in and print.
Note on Splitting: I prefer to sell these together as a stereo pair to preserve the matching service history. However, if you only need a mono unit, I am willing to split them and sell a single EQ for $1,150. Please message me directly if you would like me to create an individual listing.
Service History & Technical Specs:
- Fully Re-Capped: Both units have been completely re-capped by AudioRehab. The original, notoriously volatile tantalum capacitors have been replaced, ensuring rock-solid left/right phase coherence, predictable frequency curves, and decades of reliable studio operation.
- Pure Class-A Circuitry: Built using discrete BC413/BC416 transistors running on massive, high-voltage rails for incredible dynamic range.
- Versatile 3-Band Parametric Layout: Low, Mid, and High bands with sweepable frequencies, variable Q switches, and dedicated low/high-pass filters.
Condition Notes:
- Functional Condition: Perfect, 100% operational condition. All sweep pots turn smoothly, the frequency select switches lock into place accurately, and the bypass switches engage cleanly.
Shipping:
Both units will be individually wrapped in thick layers of heavy-duty bubble wrap and securely packed side-by-side inside a heavy-duty, double-walled shipping container. Fully insured tracking will be provided immediately upon shipment. Please reach out with any technical or compatibility questions. Thanks for looking!
