For sale is my Gibson SG Standard from July–September 1969, serial number 809060.

To be completely transparent from the start, this is a player-grade guitar, not a collector-grade instrument. It has been refinished (respecting serial number, it can be seen) and has had a previous repair/intervention at the neck/body joint. The repair is stable, and the guitar is very stable and holds tuning extremely well.

The guitar is fitted with a pair of SoloDallas T-TOP Solo 1971 humbuckers, with their original 1969 Gibson chrome pickup covers.

Original 1969 parts:

  • ABR-1 Patent No. 2... bridge with original yellow nylon saddles
  • Original chrome vibrola (arm is not original)
  • Original pickguard
  • Original backplate
  • Original truss rod cover
  • Two original volume pots
  • Original input jack
  • Original 1969 chrome pickup covers
  • 3 Original 1969 Knobs
  • Original metal electronics cavity shield

Electronics

The two volume pots are original to the guitar, with code 1376852.

The tone pots are not original I think from the 80s.

It has Philips NOS mustard capacitors from the 1960s, 0.022 µF.

Playability & construction

The guitar has been refretted and the frets are in excellent condition, with very little visible wear. It has very good playability and intonation.

It has a thick 3-piece mahogany neck with no volute. The guitar is very well balanced and has no neck dive, either sitting or standing with a strap.

The body is made from a single piece of Honduran mahogany. Rosewood fingerboard.

Lightweigh, 3.4 kg.

The finish is an ebony refinish. I also have historical photos documenting the refinish process carried out by the previous owner, which I can provide to genuinely interested buyers.

Plugged into a Marshall, this guitar delivers that classic late-'60s Gibson sound — think Angus Young and Robby Krieger.

The guitar comes with a modern hard case.

Please check the photos, these are part of the description, more photos can be sent to interested buyers.

Please ask before buy to fix shipping cost and avoid surprises.
