Bose 901 Series III in Walnut with Tulip Stands and Equalizer

Up for sale is a pair of Bose 901 Series III loudspeakers, the most iconic design of Dr. Amar Bose, wrapped in Walnut veneer with matching chrome tulip stands and equalizer, recently serviced.

This speaker line pioneered the famous Direct Reflecting technology patented by the late Bose, sending significant sound away from the listener to reflect off surfaces to create a giant sound, evenly spread acros the room for enjoyable listening in any spot.

Thes units present well, with few imperfections (see photos). They were recently serviced, with all drivers refoamed.

These are a soft-spoken speaker: they are designed to fill a room with sound gently and to that end they are spectacular. They are not going to hit you with chest-pounding bass or pinpoint imaging: they simply were not intended for such a use case. The full range drivers have limitations, and if you crank the bass on your receiver and blast these, you will experience those limitations. Again, not the use case of this speaker system.

For those looking for a mid-century modern design that has unique room-filling capabilities at even low volumes, this is the speaker for you.
