This is a handmade instrument by legendary ”Cymbal Craftsman” Paul Francis. This 18” crash ride weighs in at 1439 grams, which is a perfect weight for a well rounded cymbal that opens up while still maintaining a solid stick definition.
For an 18” this cymbal has a pronounced, dark, and sophisticated sound. Paul Francis has years of experience and knowledge on how a cymbal translates to an audience in a musical setting. This cymbals character fits well in a jazz mix and colors the music in a beautiful way, reminiscent of an old Blue Note Record.
This cymbal is perfect condition minus the usual finger prints and stick marks. It is drilled for one rivet. I purchased it directly from Paul in 2024, hence it being signed to me. He hand picked this 18” from his shop to pair with another cymbal of his I had.
It’s really a great cymbal, I just don’t get around to using it enough to justify keeping it.
