I purchased this new in 2024. I’ve gigged with it quite a few times in the past couple of years, but I take good care of my gear and carry it inside a padded rolling case. Everything works as it should and it looks good, no deep scratches or dents.

When comparing this listing, make sure you factor in the fact that this includes both the wireless Guitar and XLR transmitters. That package sells new right now at a large online music retailer for $897. i didn’t think I needed or wanted these until I owned them and saw how easy it made life. And Bose did it right. The receiver is built into the speaker so you don’t have that to keep track of and worry about charging. When you’re gig is done, you plug these back into the speaker and they’re charging for the next gig, and they’re always right where you expect them to be, in the speaker.

It’s been perfect for the small venues and senior centers I play. With the wireless transmitters and battery operated speaker I can set up in 5-10 minutes. Zero cables, no mic cable, no guitar cable, I don’t even have to plug power into the wall. Then, I don’t even set up a mic stand, instead I use a AKG cm311 headset mic. It’s got to be simplest, unobtrusive set-up there is — but even at that, it sounds great. I get many compliments on my sound. And it handles much larger rooms than you would ever imagine it could. On a few occasions I’ve connected to a 2nd speaker, but usually I just use the S1. The dispersion that comes from the little 3-speaker array that sits inside, in front of the main woofer, points the 3 mid-high speakers in every direction, angling them up-and-down and left-and-right. So you don’t have to play as loud to fill the room. Put the S1 up on a speaker stand and it carries sound even better, out across a huge room.

So why am I selling it? I need the money. That’s the only reason I’m selling it. In the future, when I’m flush again, I’ll probably buy another. I’ve never found anything that works better. For now, I have several older speakers, along with an ancient road-warn Fishman Loudbox acoustic amp that I’ll have to poor-boy it and fall back to using for a while.
