Rare Washburn EC-36 1988 - Red/Blue MIJ

This is a 1988 Spitfire / Challenger. It is a highly coveted "shredder" guitar built in Japan. It is famous for pushing fretboard real estate to its absolute limit while incorporating a radical neck carve.

• Construction: True neck-through-body. The maple neck center block runs entirely through the center of the guitar, seamlessly flanked by solid alder body wings.

• Scale Length: Standard 25.5 inches.

• Neck & Fretboard: 3-piece maple neck with a dark rosewood fingerboard. It features 36 frets (3 full octaves per string).

• Neck Joint: A modified, seamless execution of Stephen’s Extended Cutaway. The body wood on the bass side curves deeply into the upper horn, completely eliminating the traditional neck heel and allowing uninhibited access all the way up to the 36th fret.

• Electronics: A single, high-output Washburn humbucker mounted flush against the end of the 36-fret extension.

• Controls: 1 Master Volume knob with a push-pull coil tap to split the humbucker into a single-coil. 1 Active Midrange Boost knob.

• Bridge Hardware: Black Washburn 600T licensed Floyd Rose double-locking tremolo system.

• Finish Name: Blue Violet Crackle (Featuring a vibrant, multi-tone blue/magenta/red spiderweb crackle over a solid black base coat).

The body and finish are in a great condition. The usual picking area has dullness in the finish. The hardware has tarnish and rust.
