Selling my Roland V-Synth XT. This is the rackmount version of Roland’s V-Synth and is an incredibly deep and unique synthesizer with Variphrase synthesis, COSM processing, sampling, extensive modulation, and a touchscreen.

The unit is in good overall cosmetic condition and is functioning, but there are two issues that I want to fully disclose:

• Right analog output channel has a noticeable noise floor. The left channel works normally. The digital optical/S/PDIF output works properly without the noise issue, so the synth can be used digitally without the affected analog output.

• Main value encoder operates in the opposite direction. Turning it one direction moves the value the other direction. It still works for navigating and changing values. It appears that someone replaced the encoder and that’s why it’s like this.

The touchscreen, controls, synthesis engine, display, MIDI, and other functions I’ve used are working as expected.

The V-Synth XT has become increasingly difficult to find and offers a synthesis architecture that is still quite unusual today. Great opportunity for someone who primarily uses digital outputs, is comfortable using the good analog channel, or wants to have the analog output/encoder issues serviced.
