Gibson J-185 Standard, made in Bozeman, Montana, USA in 2007, in beautiful Vintage Sunburst finish.

Serial number: 00367004.

A superb Gibson jumbo acoustic featuring a spruce top and beautifully figured maple back and sides. The figured maple is particularly striking and clearly visible in the photographs.

The guitar has just undergone a professional inspection, cleaning, polishing and full setup by a luthier and is ready to play.

It is in Very Good condition, especially considering its age. There are normal signs of use and ageing, including light surface marks and the natural ageing of the nitrocellulose lacquer. Under reflected light, the finish follows and reveals some of the grain structure of the wood underneath, as can be seen in the detailed photographs. There are no major impacts or significant cosmetic damage.

The guitar is electrified, with an internally mounted pickup system powered by a 9V battery. I have included a photograph of the internal battery compartment.
[Se il liutaio l’ha provata: “The electronics have been tested and are fully functional.”]

The guitar comes with the Gibson hard case shown in the photographs, with blue plush interior.

This guitar comes from my father’s private collection. He is a lifelong guitarist and enthusiast who collected instruments over many years, and I am gradually selling part of his collection, which includes classical, acoustic, archtop and electric guitars from a variety of makers and periods.

Given the quality and nature of the instrument, inspection and playing in person are very welcome before purchase.

Reasonable offers are welcome. I’m not interested in trades.
