Gibson LG-1 1960s - Sunburst
Vintage circa 1967 Gibson LG-1 Acoustic Guitar - Sunburst finish. Step back in time with this classic, small-bodied Gibson LG-1. This parlor-sized gem delivers the authentic, dry, and punchy tone that only a vintage wood instrument with decades of natural aging can produce.
This guitar is in great working condition for its age - with a lot of vintage patina as you can see in the pictures that shows it has been loved and played, allowing the tonewoods to fully mature. The action is comfortable, and the instrument is structurally solid. Thanks to its ladder-braced construction and compact body, the LG-1 punches well above its weight. It is great for folk, traditional blues, and singer-songwriter accompaniment.
Looking up the serial number shows it is a 1967. As you can see in the pic, there is a 2 stamped under the serial number. Online research suggest this would indicate it is a factory 2nd, which my research shows would relate to just minor cosmetic defects. Given the vintage patina of this guitar, I don’t think those cosmetic defects would matter anymore, but want to disclose that in case there were any questions.
