A "Closet Find" Time Capsule Guitar!

Up for sale is an incredibly rare find: a 20-year-old Simon & Patrick S&P 6 Cedar dreadnought that was bought new, from Sounds Great in South Manchester played very little indeed. It’s never left the house and spent the last two decades tucked away safely in a consistently heated room. If you are looking for a vintage Canadian-built acoustic that looks, feels, and plays like it just rolled off the factory line, this is it.

It really has developed an exquisite tone and darkened in colour during that time.

Handcrafted in La Patrie, Quebec by the world-renowned Godin Guitars family, Simon & Patrick instruments are famous for punching way above their weight class. Because this guitar has been virtually untouched for 20 years, the solid cedar top is perfectly preserved, showing none of the typical pick wear, dings, or belly bulge common with older acoustics. There are some marks on notable a slight blemsh on the wood which came when bought.

Tonal Profile:
The pressure-tested Solid Cedar Top delivers an amazingly warm, responsive, and intimate tone. It is perfectly balanced by gorgeous Red Wild Cherry back and sides, offering a sound that sits beautifully between the punchy midrange of mahogany and the bright resonance of maple. It breathes through a beautiful, ultra-thin semi-gloss lacquer finish that lets the wood vibrate freely. Because it is already 20 years old, the wood has naturally aged and opened up beautifully, giving you a massive head start on tone. The varnish has thinned.

Condition:

  • Body/Top: No scratches, cracks, or strumming marks. Some slight marks as indicated.
  • Neck & Fretboard: The Silver Leaf Maple neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the rosewood fingerboard shows zero fret wear.
  • Hardware: The original chrome tuners are bright, clean, and hold tuning perfectly.
