MORE THAN 14 GB OF SAMPLES AND OVER 300 INSTRUMENT PRESETS for Presence XT, aimed squarely at drones, pads and evolving soundscapes rather than conventional instruments.

WHAT IT ACTUALLY SOUNDS LIKE, in PreSonus' own description: hold one key on a Multi Instrument preset and human-like voices rise alongside bit-crushed granular artefacts, Synclavier drones swell and fall away to reveal glassy FM overtones, and the whole thing washes out in reverb and grey noise.

THE SOURCES ARE THE SELLING POINT. Synth Layers were sampled from rare vintage instruments including the OBERHEIM FOUR VOICE, the SYNCLAVIER and the extremely rare SCHMIDT. Modular Layers came from EURORACK AND BUCHLA systems. Field Recording Layers were recorded in places PreSonus decline to name.

PROCESSING WAS COMMITTED, NOT LEFT TO YOU. Rare high-end hardware including a LEXICON 224 and an EVENTIDE H9000 was used as both inserts and sends during creation, with real-time parameter changes printed into the samples. That is why the material moves on its own.

HOW IT STAYS ALIVE. Presets use varied sample start modulation driven by note velocity, SO NO TWO KEYSTROKES SOUND EXACTLY THE SAME. Several presets add custom gating sequences and Note FX such as Arpeggiator, Chorder and Repeater.

Studio One's Multi Instrument technology is what lets the three layer types stack, with Macro controls driving many parameters across several plug-ins from one window, assignable to a MIDI controller. You can build your own Macros too.

ALSO INCLUDED: over 1,200 ROYALTY-FREE MUSICLOOPS for arranging quickly, plus multiple key-switch articulations per instrument, expression control and custom legato scripting.

PreSonus suggest film, television and game composers and electronic producers will get the most from it, which matches what the content is.
