SoundBridge RitMix Drum Machine MPC Pads 16 Step Sequencer (Card)

RitMix is a drum machine plug-in that SoundBridge describe as a two for one: it combines an MPC STYLE PAD SECTION and a 16 STEP SEQUENCER in a single unit, rather than making you choose which way you want to work.

Those are genuinely different ways of writing a beat. The pad section is for PERFORMING an idea, playing it in with your hands and capturing the feel. The sequencer is for BUILDING one, clicking in a pattern step by step and editing it precisely. Most drum plug-ins commit to one approach.

The pad section is designed to be played. You can enlarge the interface to perform more comfortably on a multi touch screen, which is a small detail that tells you it was built for hands rather than for a mouse alone.

The 16 step sequencer generates rhythms on the fly, either by clicking them in or by recording what you played on the pads. It also carries several RANDOMISATION buttons and parameters, which are there for experimenting and for deliberately mangling what you have.

SoundBridge have narrowed the editing features to the essentials and made the parameters large and easy to find, which is a design decision worth knowing about: this is not a plug-in for deep sound design, it is one for getting beats down quickly.

There is a full mixing and mastering FX section on the output, plus an editor and a mixer.

TO BE CLEAR, BECAUSE WE ALSO SELL THE SOUNDBRIDGE DAW: RitMix is an ordinary VST and AU plug-in and does NOT require the SoundBridge DAW. It loads in any DAW that takes plug-ins.
