This is a great sounding amp that would be good for stage or recording. It was gone through by a vintage tech expert who builds amps and keeps his 20+ collection of Fender, Marshall and Vox amps sounding perfect. I had him only replace the parts that weren't working(will be included in shipping) and didn't have him replace the American manufactured tubes because they worked( you can chose other tubes if you want). The amp is the desirable 5E3 and the transformer and potentiometers are all dated from 1959. I did have my tech put on a grounded AC cord(the original will come with the package). The speaker did need to be reconed so I sent it to Neal Speaker Service(open since 1956) whom I've used in the past. While we were at my tech's studio we compared the reconed speaker to a Speedshop A12Q and I actually like the way the reconed speaker sounded better, it seemed more authentic. The speaker is the Fender Jensen P12R C5916-3 which is OEM for this amp and the one that came with it. The exterior of the amp was unfortunately subjected to some kind of moisture so the tweed is not as clean as some I've owned but gladly it does not affect the sound. The leather strap is a Fender shop replacement.
