The king of phasers.

Up for grabs is an original Musitronics Mu-Tron Bi-Phase, one of the most iconic and sought-after analog phasers ever made. From Jerry Garcia to Smashing Pumpkins. If you know the Bi-Phase, you already know what makes these special: huge, liquid modulation with a depth and character that is difficult to replicate with modern pedals.

This one has just been professionally serviced, including replacement of all electrolytic capacitors throughout the unit. All switch contacts were also cleaned and pots freshly lubricated. It has been fully tested and is working as it should.

The unit comes with a brand new custom controller pedal, so you won't have to track down the very often missing original controller just to get sound out of the unit. The controller allows you to switch between Phaser A and Phaser B with LED indicators which the original does not have. In addition, you have a 5v peak to peak expression pedal input for controlling the modulation speed in real time.

I'm including a Moog EP-3 expression pedal for this purpose, making this a complete, ready-to-play setup right out of the box.

Cosmetically, the Bi-Phase is in excellent vintage condition with some minor marks and scratches from nearly five decades of existence. Nothing that takes away from the overall presentation, just honest signs of use.

The Phaser B feedback knob is a high-quality reproduction. The color is a little brighter than the naturally aged original knobs, so it is noticeable when compared side-by-side, but it looks very good on the unit and is a quality replacement.

This is a great example of a vintage Bi-Phase that has been properly serviced without stripping away its vintage character. No issues and no need to spend months hunting down a controller and expression pedal.
