In via trade! I’m never not going to be excited to see a Marshall come through the doors, and it’s a cool one at that! The JCM900 line was expansive, and the 2500 MKIII model was a rare entry.

It’s a single channel amp with a second foot-switchable master volume, an FX loop, and an additional preamp stage using a clipping diode that can be rolled in. If you keep the Sensitivity knob down, it’s effectively in the JCM800 lineage tonally. The more you roll up the Sensitivity knob, the gainier and hairier it gets. It’s not a high gain amp by today’s standard, but there is more gain available than on a stock JCM800, with the added versatility of an FX loop and half power switch. The second master volume is the icing on the cake, allowing for a volume boost for solos, with the tone remaining the same. It really is a great amp, and a cool piece of Marshall history. Put a Boss DS-1 in front of this thing, and you are off to the races!
