Nashville-built 1980 Les Paul Custom in Ebony with gold hardware. Serial 80670605 (March 7, 1980, Nashville plant). Norlin era, three-piece maple neck, ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays, split-diamond headstock inlay, multi-ply binding throughout.
ORIGINALITY All original as far as I know: pickups, pots [dated, Gibson-stamped gold tuners, Tune-o-matic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, black speed knobs, pickguard and bracket, Rhythm/Treble ring, truss rod cover. [No headstock or neck repairs.] Original frets with plenty of life left; three frets were spot-leveled during a professional setup, September 21 2026.
"SECOND" STAMP The headstock is factory-stamped "SECOND" below the serial number. Gibson used this for instruments with minor cosmetic flaws at the factory. It has no effect on playability or sound.
CONDITION An honestly played guitar with 45+ years of character: - Gold plating worn on the pickup covers, bridge, tailpiece, and tuner buttons - Scratches and swirl marks on the top, most visible in direct light - Small dings and finish chips on the back and edges - Binding has aged to an even vintage yellow Professionally set up in September 2026 with fresh strings. Plays and sounds great, ready to go. Setup invoice available on request. Weight: approx. 10.8 lbs (no weight relief, as original for 1980).
CASE Includes the original Gibson molded "chainsaw" hardshell case with red plush interior. The case shows age but is structurally sound. One latch is not working (shown in photos); the remaining latches close securely. Photos show everything. Please ask questions or request more pictures before buying.
