The Duo Jet is the guitar that put Gretsch on the map as a rock 'n' roll instrument — George Harrison played one on the Beatles' earliest recordings, and it's been a fixture of rockabilly, roots, and rock stages ever since. This 2020 Players Edition version captures that look and attitude in a guitar built for how players actually work today. The chambered mahogany body keeps it lighter on the strap than it looks and gives it a resonant, slightly airier voice than a solid slab — you feel it as much as hear it. The DynaSonic pickups are the real signature here: brighter and snappier than a Filter'Tron, with a cutting, percussive attack that sits beautifully in a mix without getting muddy. Add the Bigsby for shimmer and pitch-dive, and it covers everything from twangy rockabilly to gritty garage rock to smoky blues.Gloss black lacquer, aged binding, and that classic single-cutaway silhouette — it's as much a piece to look at as it is to play.Freshly cleaned and set up before listing, so it's ready to go the moment it arrives. One thing to know: the original pickguard developed a crack and has been replaced with a new one, currently installed. The original (cracked) pickguard is included with the sale for anyone who wants it — photos of both are in the listing.Includes:Original hardshell case (OHSC)All case candy — hang tags, paperwork, etc.Original (cracked) pickguardCondition: Excellent.
