🎸 GIBSON LES PAUL CUSTOM / 1969 / ebony / fully restored / vintage & rare
Up for sale is my 1969 Gibson Les Paul Custom in black, incl. Gibson case; weight: 4,8 kg. This Les Paul was played a lot during the late 80s & 1990s in a West-Berlin rockband; after that it sat until 2019, when it was fully restored by GuitarDoc in Berlin. After restoration it was still played sporadically. Guitar plays fantstic & sounds as you would expect from a legend. Serial number is very hard to read because of the refinish (it was hard to read already before, too), but you can still see it at a right angle. Restoration (detailed explanation in German on the original receipt, last picture) included:3
- disassembly of all hardware and electronic parts
- replacement of the headstock wings to restore the original contour using authentic 1960 American mahogany
- renewal of the headstock face, including logo, inlay, and binding
- complete refinishing of the instrument in black, using a nitrocellulose laquer, including soft aging of the surface
- refurbishment of the pickups by reinstalling gold covers
- assembly of the entire instrument with a new ABM 2500g-RE bridge
- installation of a new bone nut
- setup of neck relief, action, and intonation using Pyramid strings (.010–.046, Nickel Plated Steel)
