Some drums are great to have as an experiment. Some for sonic reasons. Some for aesthetic reasons. Maybe you want to modify a drum and don't want to be heavily invested in the cost of it. This 15 x 15 Amber Vistalite tom is the perfect choice for that paradigm. There are so many things you can do with it — try a floor tom conversion, a gong drum, cut it down to a snare, test a wrap or a hardware idea without risking a drum that costs ten times as much. Amber is the color everybody wants and nobody can find cheap, and at this price you can afford to actually use it.

This is a player's grade drum. The shell has stress cracks in the acrylic behind several of the lugs, which is common on Vistalites of this age where the lug screws were overtightened at some point. They're shown in the photos. The cracks are stable — the drum has been fully disassembled and reassembled without any of them spreading, and it tunes and holds a head fine. The rest of the acrylic has the light scratches and scuffs you'd expect from a fifty-year-old drum. Blue and olive badge is intact. Original Ludwig lugs and hoops.
