The Mr. Black Deuce Coupe is a highly dynamic, dual-mode analog overdrive pedal designed by Jack DeVille. It is widely celebrated for its exceptional transparency, amp-like touch sensitivity, and clean signal architecture. 

• Split-Rail Bipolar Power Supply: While it runs on a standard 9VDC negative center-pin power supply, the internal circuit converts this into an 18V bipolar rail (+9V and -9V). This design drastically increases headroom, reduces noise, and ensures the circuit biases at a clean 0 volts. 
• Independent "Ultra Boost": The layout includes two soft-touch footswitches. One activates the core overdrive, and the other engages the Ultra Boost, an incredibly potent clean boost adding up to +56.5 dB of volume to push an amplifier's front end.
• Placement-Insensitive Cleanup: Unlike many vintage fuzz or drive circuits that require direct guitar impedance, the Deuce Coupe's touch-sensitive cleanup is amplitude-based. You can place it anywhere in your signal chain—even after buffers or wireless units—and it will still clean up perfectly when you roll back your guitar's volume knob. 
• Click-Less™ Relay True-Bypass: Uses a soft-touch, click-free switching system that guarantees a completely uncolored, transparent bypass signal.
