Blackspade Acoustics UM17 – AMI – Serial No. 039 – One Owner – Exceptional Condition

For sale is my Blackspade Acoustics UM17, a large-diaphragm, multi-pattern valve condenser microphone, which I purchased new from Jukebox Ltd in Belgium in June 2013.

I am therefore the first and only owner.

This is an early example, serial number 039, bearing the inscription “Modified and Tested in the USA by AMI” directly on the microphone.

The UM17 was developed at the time in collaboration with AMI / Oliver Archut (TAB-Funkenwerk) and is a multi-pattern valve microphone featuring a transformer-coupled output.

My example has seen extremely little use: I estimate its total operating time since new at less than 20 hours. It has spent the vast majority of its life carefully stored in its case, which is reflected in its excellent overall condition.

It is in perfect working order and is supplied in its original configuration with:

• Blackspade UM17 microphone, serial no. 039
• Original multi-pattern external power supply
• Shock mount
• Original wooden case
• Microphone-to-PSU cable

The power supply allows the polar pattern to be continuously varied from omnidirectional through cardioid and intermediate patterns to figure-of-eight.

Full provenance: purchased new by me in 2013 and never previously resold.

The microphone can be tested at my studio by appointment.
