Gretsch 6071, 1968 - Orange/Walnut

This Gretsch 6071 has been around the block—and has the stories to prove it.

One of Gretsch’s wonderfully distinctive vintage short-scale hollowbody basses, the 6071 is closely associated with The Monkees era and Peter Tork, and this example has survived many decades of playing, aging, and the occasional trip to the repair bench.

At some point in its life, repair work was performed to portions of the binding, and the original tuners have been replaced with a newer set. Otherwise, from what I can tell, the bass appears to remain largely original. As with any vintage instrument of this age, prospective buyers are encouraged to examine the photos closely and make their own assessment.

Condition notes: Binding repairs; replacement tuners. Buckle rash on the back. Otherwise appears original to the best of my knowledge. Vintage wear and aging throughout consistent with age and use.
