Birdsong Corto 4 Short Scale Bass 2016 - Natural

I am offering this beautiful 2016 Birdsong Corto 4, short scale bass built by Scott Beckwith and team in Texas in 2016. The bass is in excellent condition as shown in the pictures. I was not able to find any scratches that would show up in a photo, but there are some minor natural artifacts in the body wood that you can see in the pictures. The bass has never left my smoke free home.

I had this bass custom built for me in 2016. I asked Scott to install fret dot markers the fret board because I was using the bass to teach some students that I had att he time. Fretboard dot inlays are kind of rare for a Birdsong bass.

The bass plays beautifully, and sounds huge with the Delano The Xtender pickups. The Delano "The Xtender" pickup is made in Germany, and is known for its ultra-massive low end, high-definition midrange growl, and wide-open top end. It is a high output, passive pickup. There is a lot of information online regarding Delano pickups if you care to research them.

The bass has been strung with nickel flatwound strings all it life, so there is no fret wear. It is currently strung with a brand new set of Thomastik-Infeld JF324 Jazz Flatwound Short Scale Bass Guitar Strings. TI flats are the only strings that I use.

Some highlights are:

• Hand rubbed, natural oil finished alder body
• Maple neck with a rosewood fretboard and white dot markers. The truss rod turns freely.
• Delano The Xtender pickup
• 31 inch scale
• Weight is 6 3/4 pounds on the fish scale as shown in the pictures

The bass is all original and comes with the TKL hard case that was standard with Birdsong basses at the time. As the picture shows, the bass comes in at just under 7 pounds on the fish scale.

I have another Birdsong basses that I bought new, and can attest to their quality. I'm selling this bass because I am getting on in years and don't play much anymore.
