A superlative Gibson SJ-200! This SJ-200 was built to "made to measure" specifications in the Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana. Mint, like new condition. Based on the traditional Jumbo model, added were a number of special woods and features. For the top, this custom has thermally treated Adirondack spruce, which gives the guitar plenty of power, dynamics, and, thanks to the heat treatment, a vintage-like, well-played tonal character. For a truly unique look, this custom has highly figured AAA quilted maple back and sides. The body's beautiful grain is further emphasized by the so-called "tri-burst" finish. To add a unique visual touch, all inlays are made of blue-green abalone. The soundhole rosette and top purfling are also elaborately decorated with abalone. Finally, all tonal components, such as the neck joint and top bracing, are glued with "hot hide glue." This traditional glue hardens to a crystalline state and "interlocks" the woods for perfect vibration transmission!
