Beautiful late-1980s/early-1990s Fender American Standard Stratocaster, made in the USA and finished in classic 3-Color Sunburst.
Serial number E965347 is consistent with Fender's 1989–1990 E9 serial-number period. This is a well-equipped American Strat that has been tastefully modified as a serious player's guitar, while the original pickguard and pickup assembly have been retained and are included with the sale.
Player upgrades
The guitar is currently equipped with several worthwhile performance upgrades:
- Stainless-steel roller nut
- Sperzel locking tuners with satin finish
- Jumbo frets
- Seymour Duncan pickup upgrade(s)
- Black pickguard
- Additional mini-toggle switching for expanded pickup/tonal options
- Fender-style two-point tremolo
The combination of the roller nut and Sperzel locking tuners provides excellent tuning stability, while the jumbo frets give the guitar a comfortable, modern playing feel.
Original pickguard and pickups included
An especially important part of this sale is that I kept the original pickguard and pickup assembly, and it will be included with the guitar.
The original assembly includes the pearloid pickguard, three single-coil pickups, controls and 5-way selector, as shown in the photographs.
This gives the new owner two options: enjoy the guitar in its current upgraded player's configuration or return the electronics much closer to their original configuration.
Condition
The guitar is in very good overall condition for its age and presents beautifully. The 3-Color Sunburst finish retains excellent color and gloss, with normal signs of use consistent with a guitar approximately 35+ years old.
The maple neck and fingerboard are also in very nice condition. Please examine the photographs closely, as they show the actual guitar being offered.
A hardshell Fender Tweed case is included.
